#202 Overlay Dress Halters

5/8"-wide, firm nylon with textured poly braid overlay in the same or contrasting color. Adjustable crown buckle. A well-fitting halter can draw attention to the beautiful shape and color of a llama's head and face. These halters are sized for a trim fit for the show ring with minimal hardware.

Tips and Suggestions

Here is your opportunity to fit your llama for a halter class by choosing color combinations which complement or enhance the llama's own colors. For example, in the picture to the right, a solid black llama wears a black halter with blue overlay braid. Notice how the blue of the overlay subtly picks up and emphasizes the shiny blue highlights on the llama's face, which helps define the shape of the llama's beautiful, dark face.

• For llamas who have bold facial markings of white and some other color or many spots, it is often best to choose a halter with just one color, such as black overlay on black background, or tan on tan, brown on brown, or silver on silver, depending on the llama's head colors. The overlay braid is still attractive, but the halter, being of one color does not look too "busy" on the llama's face.
     
• For a red-brown llama with a plain dark face, try the complementary color of green overlay on dark blue background. This combination can attract the eye to an otherwise plain-colored head.
