#306 String-Along Lead

The safest way to string pack llamas. These special String-Along Leads are designed to make forming a pack string easy and safer than a fixed tie-in. The lead attaches to the front llama's lead ring with a panic snap. Carabiner links rope to his pack. A standard clip goes to second llama. The front llama is clipped into the line with a panic snap, which can be attached either to his halter ring or snapped into an adjustable but non-sliding ring on the rope, to form a loop around the base of his neck. The middle section of the rope is held up by a sliding ring clipped to the lead-llama's pack by a cabiner. The end of the rope is clipped to the second llama's halter ring. Should one of the following llamas go around the wrong side of a tree or become caught on some other object, the handler can quickly release the panic snap at the front end, releasing the pressure on the lead so that the difficulty can be remedied.
