Rocky Mountain Llamas has been developing and supplying equipment to the llama community since 1980. Bobra established her llama breeding herd in 1978, and her llama activities have spanned the spectrum of breeding, training, showing, commercial and private packing, public relations, and driving llamas to cart.
Being an early participant in all these activities led to our developing
or discovering equipment appropriate for these activities. Some of our
innovations have since been copied by other suppliers. We continue to
look for practical solutions to our own and other llama and alpaca owners'
needs as they develop. Because we have a small herd of alpacas boarding
with us since 1991, we are also well aware of their particular character
and needs.
The offerings in our catalog are highly selective. Our primary goal
remains to offer only top-quality equipment that is, first of all, appropriate
and safe for the llamas, as well as convenient and practical for the
user. In addition, when we find items that are particularly useful or
enjoyable, we like to make these available to other llama and alpaca
owners.
Rocky Mountain Llamas, located just four miles north of Boulder, Colorado,
is a full-service llama farm with emphasis on breeding, boarding, training,
and showing. We also provide services such as shearing, toenail trimming,
vaccinations, and any other day-to-day care, as well as attending to
any extraordinary care that might be necessary. We have bred and have
available classic North American packing/performance/show llamas (which
are, ideally, the same animal in our book!). Our llamas continue to be winners
in the show ring and on the trail.
In addition, Bobra still offers her clinics in basic Training Llamas
and Alpacas for Willing Cooperation, Driving, and
Packing, along with Herd Management and Performance
Showmanship which have been added by popular request. Bobra also
consults on llama behavior, management and training.
