Ten-inch long precision nail nippers give the leverage any small hand may need to trim toenails.  These are the only nippers we have used consistently over many years of trying numerous tools. They can be used at any angle necessary on both the bottom of the nail as well as on the tough, curved "buttress" on the top of the nail.

Tip: Trim nails when the ground is wet, or have the llama stand in water briefly before trimming. This softens the nail remarkably and makes the job much easier. For further help, see the excellent drawings and instructions for nail trimming in the book Caring for Llamas and Alpacas.
